De los Mozos: "Escribano is one of the 20 companies Indra is considering buying."

José Vicente de los Mozos, CEO of Indra, has stated that his company has up to 20 companies on its radar, all of them potential acquisitions, and " Escribano is one of them ." He noted that the multinational is studying the acquisition of the company owned by the family of Indra's current chairman "at an early stage, and we'll see what happens, and the Board of Directors will be the first to be informed." Regarding the twenty potential acquisitions, de los Mozos has assumed that his group will not be able to acquire some of those that could be suitable or of interest.
With the same goal of accelerating his group's inorganic growth, De Los Mozos has expressed his support for adding capabilities and skills, as well as facilitating new vertical integrations. In this regard, the executive acknowledged that his group is seeking potential synergies to develop the company's capabilities in the electronic ground systems defense industry , including electronic warfare and command and control. "That's what we're studying," he emphasized in an informal meeting with the press at the Spanish International Defense and Security Fair (Feindef 25).
In his opinion, " Indra is a leading technology company, but we are not industrially, especially when compared to the NATO environment. And the reason is that we make prototypes and not small-series production." Given the demand expected in the coming years, he explained, "time delivery is very important. That's why we must specialize in the industrialization of small series." As he explained to the media, meeting this need for industrialization requires "working from the design, from standardization, from the supply chain and from the value of suppliers, in order to produce and shorten delivery times."
De los Mozos: "Trump has become an accelerator for the European defense industry."
In his speech at Feindef 25, which will be held at Madrid's Ifema trade fair centre until 14 May, De los Mozos reiterated one of the messages from his group's recent meeting with analysts, stating that his company could acquire some of the aforementioned 20 companies but not others, "but the important thing is that Indra is in a very dynamic moment. We want to grow, we know which direction to go in, but not all of them will be acquisitions, because we cannot acquire some of the companies we want to acquire. There will also be partnerships, because the idea is to create a network that makes us stronger."
At the same forum, De los Mozos indicated that Donald Trump has become "an accelerator for the European defense industry," given that "Europe is preparing itself, it knows where we should go and there is much to do, but it is important to appreciate that if the continent wants to be a relevant player in the world, then we need to have the capacity to deter other elements and countries around the world. And when we talk about deterrence, we are talking about technology, in many cases in a dual civil-military aspect."
Regarding the Industrial and Technological Plan for Security and Defence in Spain and Europe, with which the Government plans to allocate 2% of the national GDP to Security and Defence throughout this year, De los Mozos has assured that the industry is ready to welcome those 10 billion euros in investments , not only in 2025 but also in 2026 and 2027 , but to do so the defence industry needs to reorganise itself , establish a strong and powerful fabric and work differently, because now we are talking about European projects.
